Raul Allikivi was born in Estonia in 1979. He graduated from Tartu University in 2002, completed his master's degree at Waseda University in 2005 and started working at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. He served as Deputy Director General of Economic Development Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications in 2007 until 2012. During that time, from 2010 to 2012 he was a government-appointed Supervisory Board Member of Estonian national airline Estonian Air. Allikivi is currently living in Japan. He established a consulting company ESTASIA in 2012 and later also a craft beer import company Biiru in 2013 to introduce Japanese artisanal drinks to Europe. Raul Allikivi was a founding member of Planetway 2016-2021, hybrid Estonian-Japanese-US startup, introducing Estonian cyber security solutions into Japanese market. In 2021 Raul co-founded G-Bank Technologies OÜ in Estonia and is in the process of setting up a neobank providing onestop banking services for international workers in Japan.
