2001年に特許庁に入庁。審査官・審判官として土木、物理分析、アミューズメント分野の審査・審判業務を担当。併せて、先行技術調査の外注、審査第一部の技術等調査、新エネルギー・産業技術総合開発機構の知財方針、外部ユーザーと特許庁との意見交換窓口、国際部署での五大特許庁及び制度調和、審判における制度・企画、特許庁広報室長等を担当。また、デザイン経営プロジェクトにおける広報チームや知財普及のための動画、商標拳のチームリーダーを担当。 2021年からジェトロデュッセルドルフにて、特許庁の欧州窓口として欧州の知財分野における日本企業支援、欧州の知財機関との窓口、欧州における最新の知財動向調査などを担当。 / Shunsuke Shikato works for senior director for the IP department of JETRO Dusseldorf as a representative of the Japan Patent Office in Europe, supporting Japanese companies in IP, liaising with European IP institutions, and researching the latest IP trends in Europe. He joined the Japan Patent Office in 2001. He had engaged as a patent examiner and administrative judge of the trial and appeal department in civil engineering, physical analysis, and amusement technology. He was also in charge of conducting technical and other researches in the Examination Division, the IP policy of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, the point of contact for exchanging opinions between Japanese users and the JPO, the IP5 and patent harmonization in the international policy division, systems and planning in trial and appeal department, and the head of the JPO's public relations office. He was also responsible for the public relations team in the design management project and the team leader of the video "SHO-HYO-KEN" to promote the importance of intellectual property rights.
